Become a Certified Armed Security Guard

This comprehensive training is a state-mandated requirement for those looking to become armed security guards in New York. Combining classroom instruction with live range training, this course prepares you for real-world security situations.

This course needs a minimum of 8 students in order to start.

Student brings:

  1. Pistol, semi-auto or revolver (.38 or higher for revolvers). Calibers accepted: .9mm, 40, and 45. 22s, 380s and smaller calibers are not permitted.

  2. Ear and eye protection

  3. Duty holster and duty belt. Holster must be made of a Kydex material. No cloth or leather.

  4. 20 boxes of FMJ ammunition. Please call our office before purchasing ammunition. (716-622-7168).

  5. 3 10 round magazines. If you have 8 round mags, bring at least 5.

  6. Gun cleaning kit.

  7. Baseball cap.

Course Scheduling and Cancellation Policy.

Enrollment-Dependent Scheduling Guidelines:

The course schedule is outlined below; however, its delivery is contingent upon achieving sufficient enrollment. Should enrollment fall below the required threshold, the administration may elect to postpone or cancel the class. Instructors are committed to conducting classes as scheduled and will make every effort to accommodate all enrolled students while maintaining the planned academic calendar. Nonetheless, instructors retain the discretion to reschedule or cancel sessions due to insufficient student numbers or unforeseen circumstances, such as instructor illness, facility maintenance issues, or emergencies.

In cases where a class must be postponed or cancelled, students will be promptly informed using the contact details provided during registration. If cancellation occurs, alternative arrangements will be offered whenever possible, including reassignment to another section, rescheduling, or issuance of a full tuition refund.

Refund Policy

 

            Students will receive a 100% refund prior to the start of instruction.

            Courses divided between two days; student will receive a 50% refund if requested before start of second day.

            Courses divided into four sessions, the refund schedule shall be 75%, 50%, and 25%.

            A security guard training school cannot assess any non-refundable registration fees, cancellation fees, or deposits.

 

 

47-hour firearms course:  Student will be entitled to an 85% refund if the cancellation occurs after the initial deadly physical force training begins, but before instruction begins for the firearms handling, safety, proficiency, and qualification component of the course.  No refund is owed if the student cancels after the above cited firearms handling component instruction has begun.

Attendance Policy: *100% attendance is required to earn certificate– also need to address procedure in the event student is unable to attend 100% due to illness, childcare issues or other unforeseeable emergent situation.  Many schools allow student to make up missed portions in future class.

 

Refund Procedure

Refund will be granted within 2-5 days of receiving request.

 

Attendance Policy

 

            100% attendance is required for all courses however we recognize that instances may arise when a student may not be able to attend class due to illness, family emergency, childcare, or any other reasonable cause. In these instances, we require telephonic or email notification of absence from class. We will allow the student to make up hours during the next available course. Students that are a no call no show may be excluded from making up hours, however they may appeal to the training school Director. Make-up training will be granted on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to reject any application for admission, or to terminate a student for reasons of safety, attendance, conduct or not conforming to the rules and regulations of the school and New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.

No live ammunition is permitted in the classroom during any class.

A valid current government issued photo identification is required.

Must have a valid NYS Pistol Permit.

All major credit cards and Apple Pay are accepted for payments. No personal checks are accepted.
